Why???
Because I Believe
Because it was the most watched sporting (or any) event in Canadian History
Because of the emotion
Because it was the USA
Because Team USA beat us earlier and we knew they were so good
Because Canada owns the GOLD MEDAL Podium
Because we won the Most Gold Medals
Because the USA tied the game with 20 seconds left in regulation time
Because it was the last day of the Olympics
Because it was overtime
Because Canada was ready for a party
Because it was the perfect way to end the Olympics
Because the greatest hockey player in the world scored the Golden Goal
Because the whole nation was relieved
Because the whole nation celebrated at the same moment
Because what would we do if Team Canada lost

Today, the tie could be broken with men’s and women’s curling finals.
Canada has been on a tear lately. The Curling and Hockey  finals could see Canada’s total increase during the last few days of the 2010 Winter Olympics.
But first, Team Canada has to defeat Slovakia in today’s semi-final.
Hopefully, the USA and Canada will advance to the final. What a great way to end the games!
Beery gold-medal celebration could get Canada’s women’s team in trouble.
What kind of trouble???
I can understand the celebration, but it should have been in a more private area. Not a wise move.
The Game between Canada and the USA was certainly exciting and a highlight of the 2010 Winter Olympics. The US team put on a great deal of pressure especially in the last period.
The Canadian goalie was terrific!

Canada is golden again in women’s Olympic hockey.
Oh Canada! Women’s hockey blanks USA for third straight gold
The Canadian women’s hockey team skated up to the top step of the Olympic podium once again.
The Canadians won their third consecutive gold medal at the Olympics with an efficient 2-0 victory against the rival United States on Thursday.
Teenage whiz Marie-Philip Poulin scored two first-period goals and that was enough because netminder Shannon Szabados shut the door on the Americans with a wonderful 28-save performance
