Apolo Ohno finished third in the 1,000-meter short-track race, bringing him a bronze medal and making him the most decorated American in the history of the Winter Olympics. He has seven medals in three Olympics, one more than United States speed skater Bonnie Blair.
— South Korea finished first and second in the 1,000-meter race and second and third in the women’s 1,500-meter short-track event. Those four medals were the most won by any country on Saturday. The United States had three — a silver for speed skater Shani Davis, a bronze for alpine skier Lindsey Vonn and the bronze for Ohno.
— The United States remained at the top of the medal table with six golds and 23 overall. The Americans are within two medals of equaling their total from Turin four years ago.
